Telehealth ROCKS Lab Team

Ilana Engel, MA

Graduate Research Assistant

Ilana is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at KU. She is interested in how telebehavioral health is implemented in communities across the region and works with the team on research and quality improvement projects. Outside of Telehealth ROCKS, she is also interested in mental health in the context of aging and chronic health. 

Annaleis Giovanetti, MA

Graduate Research Assistant

Annaleis is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at KU. She is interested in the implementation of telebehavioral health services and increasing access to evidence-based treatment. She works with the Telehealth ROCKS team on research and quality improvement projects, with additional interests in treatment interventions for depression.

Stephanie Punt, PhD

Graduate Research Assistant

Stephanie received her doctorate from the Clinical Psychology PhD program at KU with an emphasis in health psychology. She is interested in developing and leading programs that bolster resilience and behavioral strategies related to the mind-body connection. She is also interested in projects that improve access to telemedicine and social determinants of health for school-aged children and their families across the region.

R. Keith Beeman, PhD

Graduate Research Assistant

Keith accumulated a wealth of experience during his 40-year career in public education, most notably as a superintendent and deputy superintendent, which allows him to bring a unique perspective to the need for telehealth services for school districts. He received his PhD in Education from KU. He is currently studying health psychology with a specific interest in cardiac psychology in order to contribute to the quality of life of individuals with heart disease. 

Cordaris Butler, MS

Graduate Research Assistant

Cordaris is a fourth year doctoral student at the University of Kansas's Counseling Psychology program.  He is interested in psychotherapy processes and outcomes in mental and brain health, social determinants of health impacting aging adults in communities, and healthy lifespan aging processes for mental health. Other interests include: projects that utilize positive psychological interventions impacting rural communities served. 

Mariana Rincón Caicedo, M.A

Graduate Research Assistant

Mariana is a graduate student in the clinical psychology program at KU. She is interested in how telehealth can be implemented to address disparities in healthcare faced by Latinx individuals in the U.S. Her involvement with Telehealth ROCKS has primarily been related to research and quality improvement projects. Outside of Telehealth ROCKS, she has interests in neuropsychology and health psychology.

Alyssa Dye, MA

Graduate Research Assistant

Alyssa is in her fifth year in the Counseling Psychology PhD program at the University of Kansas. She received a bachelors in Music Education and masters in General Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus. Alyssa’s research interests with Telehealth ROCKS include equitable access to behavioral health services and telehealth implementation. Other research interests focus on the transition to parenthood, particularly for fathers, LGBTQ+ populations, and nontraditional families.

Ghina Fares

Graduate Research Assistant

Ghina Fares is a Doctor of Audiology Candidate at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Audiology at the American University of Beirut. Ghina is interested in the pediatric population, enhancing telehealth services, and content creation. She is responsible for managing social media accounts, as well as developing surveys and videos for Telehealth Rocks.

Daryl Rosenblum Hesse, MS

Graduate Research Assistant

Daryl is a doctoral student in the Clinical Child Psychology Program at KU. Her research focuses on the development of externalizing behaviors (e.g., aggression, delinquent behaviors) in children and adolescents. More specifically, she aims to understand how individual attributes and environmental contexts differentially predict behaviors like substance use. She is also interested in the utilization of technology to measure and improve behavioral health outcomes and reduce health disparities.     

Samantha Ruelas

Undergraduate Assistant

Samantha is a fourth year undergraduate Psychology student at San Jose State, and plans to

pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She is interested in developing effective evidence-based treatments for all populations, and increasing access to resources for underserved communities. Her research interests also include neuroscience, protective factors like social

relationships, and the effects of chronic stress on the mind and body.


Kat Wright, BA

Graduate Research Assistant

Kat is a doctoral student in the Clinical Child Psychology Program at KU. Her previous research focused on the connection between hope and treatment outcomes. She looks forward to studying how behavioral telehealth can be utilized to improve the resilience of children living in difficult conditions.
