Ann Davis, PhD, MPH, ABPP – Healthy Lifestyle and Nutrition

Dr. Davis directs the Center for Children’s Health Lifestyles & Nutrition. She and her team study healthy behaviors in children and families and enjoy working with unique and underserved populations. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the clinical committee.

T. Ryan Smith, MD Pediatrics and Medical Complexity

Dr. Smith has pediatric care expertise in children with medical complexity. He has special interest in social determinants and health care access. Additionally, Dr. Smith is a board-certified clinical informaticist with emerging research in telehealth equity. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, he serves on the training and clinical committees.

Linda Heitzman-Powell, PhD, MPH Autism, IDD

Dr. Heitzman-Powell is a researcher and practitioner with a long history of serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. She specializes in applying evidence-based methods, particularly in underserved areas. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the clinical committee. 

Molly Brown, PhD, MPH Community Health Collaboratives, Maternal/Child & Women’s Health and Telehealth

Dr. Brown’s research interests focus on evaluating and building maternal, child and women’s health programs and evaluating telehealth use. She also directs the Heartland Telehealth Resource Center that serves the telehealth education needs for the states of Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she consults on telehealth services inquiries related to maternal/child health and evaluation.

E Alice Zhang, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA-KS Autism, IDD

Dr. Zhang’s research and practice centers on autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is a certified OASIS Parent Training Coach and Trainer, PCIT therapist, and CARE facilitator. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the evaluation committee and also provides training.

Leni Swails, PhD Autism, Developmental Disabilities

Dr. Swails is a Clinical Child Psychologist with research and clinical interest in autism, developmental disabilities, and community training in evidence-based practices. She provides Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) training to community mental health providers, and Child Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) workshops for families, educators, and anyone who works with kids. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the training committee.

Stephanie Punt, PhD Resilience and Self-Care

Dr. Punt has an interest in how resilience and self-care can increase the morale of a workforce. She is also trained in neuropsychology. As a consultant on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the training and evaluation committees.

Erin Hambrick, PhD Trauma

Dr. Hambrick is a Clinical Child Psychologist with a research interest in trauma and resilience. She evaluates the effectiveness of available trauma treatments in community-based settings with the goal of understanding which interventions work for whom, under which circumstances, and how to promote relational health for trauma-exposed youth. As a consultant on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the training and evaluation committees.

Melissa Maras, PhD Trauma-Responsive Schools

Dr. Maras is a Clinical-Community Psychologist and school consultant. She provides training on a myriad of trauma and behavior topics. As a consultant on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the training and evaluation committees. 

Joah Williams, PhD Trauma

Dr. Williams is a Clinical Psychologist interested in the psychosocial and health consequences of trauma exposure across the lifespan. As a consultant on the Telehealth ROCKS team, he serves on the training and evaluation committees.

Sharon E. Cain, MD Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Dr. Cain focuses on delivering psychiatric care to youth via telemedicine. She also teaches and provides clinical supervision for physicians in child psychiatry sub-specialty training. That training includes evaluation and the safe and effective management of psychiatric medications. As a co-investigator on the Telehealth ROCKS team, she serves on the clinical committee.

Eve-Lynn Nelson, PhD, LP, FATA Child Psychology

Dr. Nelson focuses on the evaluation and dissemination of evidence-supported, patient-centered approaches in low resourced communities, including evaluation of the array of videoconferencing technologies to deliver clinical and educational programming. As the Principal Investigator of the Telehealth ROCKS programs, she leads the team and efforts towards the goal of all children having the opportunity to succeed in life and school.
