About The Event

This workshop will provide participants with an overview of Psychological First Aid and Skills for Psychological Recovery – two early interventions for youth and families that can be delivered in the aftermath of a disaster and/or traumatic event. Participants will be introduced to the broad range of early reactions to trauma and disaster, and how to use interventions to best support the path to resilience in the days and weeks following a traumatic event. This workshop will focus on using interventions with children and adolescents. It is open to anyone working with these groups and you do not need a background in mental health or behavioral interventions to participate. After attending this session, additional training options will be offered for continued learning on these topics.
